Today I decided the go for wisdom teeth extraction. I made the appointment at 11.30 morning. As advise by the nurse, I took very heavy breakfast before I go.. she warned me that I’m forbidden to eat within 10 hours after the surgery.

I walked in to the clinic, there were 2 nurses addressed me courteously and did the registration. The clinic was quiet, very quiet. The nurse took me to a room with a giant machine, she explained this is the x-ray scanning machine. I was asked to put on a silly heavy anti-radiation shirt, took off my earring & necklace, I bit on the plastic thingy and the machine started spinning surrounded me.. there were 2 pieces of scanning devices spinning around me.. X-ray was done as quick as juz 30 seconds..

I waited at the reception for 10 minutes. Flipped few magazines.. I wished that the surgery would be as easy as the x-ray taking. I asked to go in surgery room #1. I met Doctor Ng, he is short & stocky, he greeted me and I was asked to sit on the bench. He explained me my teeth & gum structure. I have total of 3 wisdom teeth, 1 at top & 2 at the bottom. 1 at top is in unfavorable position as it is totally hiding. 2 at the bottom are favorable positions for surgery purpose but insufficient space to remove. He asked whether I want to operate today, I agreed, I know I could stay at home rest & recovery during the coming holidays. Also, the wisdom teeth already caused me enough pain to chew foods.. I decided.

Upon my agreement, the nurse passed me a consent form to sign. I asked to take pills, cap celexin & cap celebrex aka antibiotic & pain-killer. I laid down on the bench, spotlight shone on me, I saw a syringe towards me, it’s really the biggest syringe I ever saw. It’s steel form and at least 7 inches. Doc pressed me down and starts injecting in my right gum, cheek, muscle or whatever u call it. While injecting the anesthesia the nurse was patting my shoulder, either she wants to calm me down or distract me.. regardless the reason, I juz closed my eyes and the injection was done least possible pains. Guess the patting did help.. I rinsed my mouth and it came out some bloods.

Waited for 5 minutes, I started losing my senses. I couldn’t feel my right side of cheek, even though I know it’s caused by anesthesia but I was still feeling very nervous. This is second time I couldn’t feel my body(First time was dengue admission). To make myself less gan-jiong, I try to keep my eyes closed but I when heard the noise of chainsaw, I frightened. I saw the nurse is putting 2 pipes into my mouth, 1 is the sucking-pipe and washer pipe, at the same time doc is working on his surgery. I have no idea what is happening, I juz hearing chainsaw & drilling sounds. I couldn’t feel anything. Thanks to my buddy Terence scared me that the operation sometimes would failed and caused me extra pains.. I just hoping the operation gets over soon. The longer I waited the more fears I have; my body is terribly shaking by auto-reflex. At this point, I saw the white sucking pipe oledi turned COMPLETELY RED. I tried to calm myself by telling this gonna be over soon. After awhile, I can feel that the doctor is trying to pull out something, but failed, then drilling started again, pulling, drilling, pulling drilling.. countless times repeated. Finally the doc spoke, he said “tough case, finally it came out.” He handed stitches tools from the nurse. The stitching did not cause any pain, coz the anesthesia still effectual. But I knew I been sewed.

Doc showed me my shattered wisdom teeth. Due to insufficient of space, doc has to break the wisdom teeth into pieces.. and take out completed. The face swollen badly.. I hope it fully recover soon.. also hope the remaining 2 wisdoms dun give me any problem pls.......

As a MBC (Malaysian-Born-Chinese), I believe that I’ve been living in the one of the most diverse country in the world. More than 20 years of living experience told myself that I love this piece of land.. I’ve been hearing complaints from friends and colleagues about Malaysia’s government.. And they want to move out, moving out or already moved out the country.. *tragic*

Take away the political issues, I will proudly to say that “I’M A MALAYSIAN!!” like the TV advertisement indoctrinates so.. I have too many reasons for that..

September month AKA the Ramadan month, I been asking my non-Muslim friends and colleagues surround me about Ramadhan fasting.. Surprisingly, most of them only know that the Muslims only allowed to consume foods during certain timing but not the reasons behind it.. 

Fasting means to abstain completely from foods, drinks, sex, and smoking, before break of the dawn till sunset, during the entire lunar month of Ramadhan. Fasting is a means that makes us appreciate and give thanks for pleasures. Fasting means giving up eating, drinking and intercourse, which are among the greatest pleasures. By giving them up for a short time, we begin to appreciate their value. This motivates human to be grateful for them.  This is juz one of the reason, there are quite few more reasons behind it..
