It has happened many times in various occasions that many people asked me about my occupation. Occupation telling is a common spot for everybody when meet new friend, old-time mates, relative, or even neighbor aunties uncles.

I’ve encountered many many many... friends gave me odd responses or worse I’d gone mad after I told them what I do, Human Resources (HR). I’m wondering is it because of the job nature or bcoz of my gender or other reasons. The common responses:

1.       Ha!? You working as HR ar?

2.       Ha?! What is that?

3.       Oo.. but got guy do HR one meh?

4.       Yiieee.. HR always cut my leave and salary also not approve my OT + Claims, HR is bad people.

5.       then you ma very free lo..

OMG, I was sooo... tempestuous and muted when sumbodies gave me response #2 and #3. Okay! Fine, I hate #4 and #5 too. I really wish to do explication or ask those non-HR-understanding mortal to search wikipedia find out what exactly HR doing. To some of my beloved low-educated aunties uncles, I have to tell them in Chinese that I’m working under ‘人事部' , but if they (most) still don’t understand, then I really no idea how to explain and told ‘office job’.

Those who think HR is a free and easy job or just cutting employee’s salary, I categorize them as ‘chaff’. A HR manager told me once about the ‘Human Resource is the backbone of an organization’ theory during an job interview. Although I did terribly during the interview but the conception inspired me very much.

According to my past working experience, no deny, HR personnel are mostly female but the population of male HR is actually increasing. At least my past 4 direct managers are male. I’m not embarrassed of what I’m doing, China political leader Deng Xiaoping said ‘I don't care if it's a white cat or a black cat. It's a good cat so long as it catches mice’. *meow*

I’ve working in HR line for years. I’ve been to small, Medium, BIG, and HUGE organizations. Beside working as a keeper of confidential info, I was also doing front-liner. I foresee I gonna stuck for this at least for years...

16^th March 2008, the most deadening Saturday I had in a looooooooonnng time.

Opened my movie folder, found new movie download, Alvin and the Chipmunks. I love Theodore. He's so adorable, OMG! Seriously, if you're in need of something to be happy about, Alvin and the Chipmunks would make you very happy. Theodore is so cute. and i like their opening theme of 'Bad day'!

Let me see.. I’ve been playing DotA (Defense of the Ancients) since the first map created which was 2 or 3 years ago. It hasn’t been stopped since the day 1 i started play. Up today, I’m still stuck with the my buddy-MingKai playing it every nights and continue forming "PUI" team. I’m anxiously waiting for the day I found new 'thingy' to replace dota!

Recently, I discovered 2 new tower defense(TD) maps which really hooked me up. (i) Soldier Tower Defense and (ii) Element Tower Defense. The objective of the TD game is to survive creeps waves, where the creeps become increasingly difficult to destroy. The game has an engaging simplicity about it - selecting and building towers to defend the maze against wave after wave of baddies called "creeps".

Easily completed Solider TD after few nights of handworks. WUAAHAHAHAHAa…

Now working hard on Element TD, what I like most about this element TD is the tower element concept. The circle of elements goes as follows: Light > Darkness > Water > Fire > Nature > Earth > Light...

Each elemental armor takes additional damage from the element preceding it and retains near-invulnerability from the element following it. Consequently, each tower deals damage based on its attack element versus the armor element of the invading creeps.

And the idea of element-combination is driving me passion about it! And the tower designs are SPECTACULAR! VERY leng! Insanely love it!  Sadly, I easily K.O. by letting the creeps escaped. I can’t wait to build all of them. Gonna work extra hard on this!
