    C+偵探 The Detective

The Chinese title of the film translates as "C+ Detective"(C+偵探), which is also Cantonese wordplay for "Private Detective". Thinking it's just another typical HK detective story then you're WRONG! The story keeps you in suspense till the end.

Returning to the filmmakers' roots, THE DETECTIVE is set entirely in Thailand, and the film begins with a creepy Thai song. The story is simple, like an old-fashioned film noir, a nearsighted private detective Tam (Aaron Kwok) is visited by an acquaintance, FatDragon (肥龍), one morning, who seeks his help in finding a woman named Sum (), Fat claims that the woman is trying to kill him. So Tam takes this seemingly innocuous case that becomes increasingly complex as it goes on, especially when each lead he gets will bring him to a dead body.

The discoveries of these dead bodies are suspenseful and shocking, staged effectively by the Pang Brothers in methods similar to their horror films. Sound effects & visual effects are great, especially the horrifying images of the dead people. You also get sucked into the movie as it goes along. I have to say that moments like these are when the Pang Brothers are at their best.

Wasn't that impressed by his Golden Horse award-winning turn in DIVERGENCE (三岔口).  Aaron Kwok proved his acting credential in AFTER THIS OUR EXILE (父子) (which made him only the second actor in history to win back-to-back Golden Horse acting awards), but THE DETECTIVE (C+偵探) managed to convince me that Aaron Kwok has blossomed into a good actor worth watching, his acting as Ah Tam the detective is simply flawless and I have no doubt he can triumph for the 3rd consecutive time in the Golden Horse award.

The great storyline makes it worthwhile to spend your money to watch it in a cinema.

    Phone

I’m using LG P7200 “Black Temptation”. Few months before bought it; the first impression was so high, I was in love with this phone. I had to have it, and that was the worst decision I have ever made! I can’t believe I got the phone. Everyone teased me at first for taking this phone and at the end of the day, they were all right. NEVER again a LG.I was put off on a permanent basis.

    ·          Battery time is really pathetic (no more than 1 day)

    ·          You get this constant hissing sound when you are playing something (song, recording etc)

    ·          Sound speakers aren’t loud, VERY LOW!

    ·          Pathetic software...I'm actually experiencing a software problem...the camera doesn’t focus and the pictures aren’t clear

    ·          Cannot run MPEG4 files @_@

    ·          Only 15 sec of recording playable

    ·          Hard keys.. Text messaging takes agess...ZZzzzZZZzzzzz

    ·          Picture taking takes ages

    ·          The camera features are too much, but not satisfying, pictures are not the best with standard 2MP camera, too slow for taking pictures.

    ·          It only looks nice from the outside, look nice and that's a biggest cheating! I hate LG for that. After the second month, the front scratches sooooo easily, that the black paint comes off, and all you are left with is a metallic piece of SHxT in-front and that's really pissed me off!

Thanks to my friend Ivan. I played with his Nokia N73 last Saturday. I’m indeed in love with it. 3MP camera with flash, and I do need a camera now! It seems like a perfect phone for me... with my low budget..

Planning to get it after Raya which is end of October. Need to work hard on the saving. Urrgghhh.. Baring teeth
